The West Coast Radio Sailing Club (WCRS) is an RC Sailing Club for Vancouver Island region. We are registered with the BC Societies Act as a member-funded society.
The purpose of the Club is to promote the designing, building, sailing and racing of radio controlled sailboats in British Columbia, especially Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. This includes promoting competitive activities on a local and regional basis a well as encouraging fellowship among radio control sailors
The Club will accept as members, those who live British Columbia, especially Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands
We sail primarily IOMs, and DF65s. There are some DF95, Soling 1m and RC Lasers in the area and members do have other classes of boats. All are welcome.
To be able to race RC sailboats in Canada, you must be a member of our National Authority – the Canadian Radio Yachting Association (CRYA), and register your boat(s). So WCRS requires that you be a member in good standing with CRYA to join and participate in WCRS activities.
WCRS is affiliated with CRYA as a recognized club authorized to conduct racing under the World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
